“Ukraine’s struggle is a struggle for democratic principles that we all share” — Prime Minister of New Zealand Chris Hipkins

During the Third Summit of the Crimean Platform, Prime Minister of New Zealand Chris Hipkins expressed his unequivocal support for Ukraine in countering Russian aggression. “Turning away from Ukraine means turning away from the principles of democracy,” he said.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand confirmed the importance of continuing sanctions pressure on the aggressor state as a means of supporting Ukraine.

Chris Hipkins also emphasized the importance of respecting the rights of indigenous peoples and condemned Russia’s aggressive policy in the temporarily occupied Crimea. “Ukraine is fighting for its borders, including Crimea,” the Prime Minister added.
