“Ukrainian sovereignty must be restored over the entire territory within its internationally recognized borders”, Leo Varadkar, Prime Minister of Ireland

The Prime Minister of Ireland Leo Varadkar reiterated full support of his country for Ukraine for as long as it will be needed.

Leo Varadkar mentioned that with the invasion to Crimea in 2014 Russia demonstrated to the world its disregard for international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of other states and that democratic countries should everything to ensure that Russia does not succeed in its war  nor should it be allowed to weaponize food and energy in the way it has done since the start of the war.

He also supported Ukraine’s efforts to ensure that countries, worst affected by food insecurity, can continue to access the critical supplies they need.

The Prime Minister also voiced concern over grave human rights violations in occupied Crimea, particularly regarding indigenous Crimean Tatar people, and called on Russia to uphold obligations under international law, end its aggression against Ukraine, and unconditionally withdraw its forces.
