A Collection of Crimean Tatar Garments Was Displayed in Odesa

As part of the week of Crimean Tatar culture, Odesa hosted a fashion show featuring the Nesıl—Generation collection by the brand founded by designer Aisha Issa.

The collection combined traditional Crimean Tatar ornaments and current fashion trends. The central element was the ancient ornek pattern, which the designer combined with sporty, casual, and festive styles.

“I realized a long time ago that there are no clothes that I would like to wear and at the same time comply with the laws of Islam. So, I started drawing sketches, which were a combination of modern and oriental motifs. This is how I developed my style. In three words, it is comfort, sport, and individuality,” Aisha Issa commented after the show.

The designer also emphasized that the collection aims to draw attention to the Crimean Tatars’ rich cultural heritage and show that traditional clothes can be fashionable.

The fashion show in Odesa was an important step in developing Crimean Tatar fashion. This style embodies ethnic motifs and modern trends, highlighting the Crimean Tatar people’s cultural heritage and symbolism.

The Crimean Tatar Culture Week was organized by the participants of the UPSHIFT youth program Unknown (the League of Muslim Women of Ukraine) and Adalet (the Crimean Tatars of Odesa Region NGO) with the support of the Needed Here NGO, UNICEF, and the Belgian government.
