As part of the conference “Crimea Global. Understanding Ukraine through the South”, the participants joined a tour of the historical sites of the centre of Kyiv.
In particular, the international guests visited St Michael’s Cathedral and St Sophia of Kyiv National Reserve, a monument of Ukrainian architecture and monumental painting.
The participants also met with volunteer Tata Kepler, who has been providing medical assistance to the military since 2014. Since the full-scale invasion, Tata Kepler’s volunteering has grown into a separate independent project called The Birds, which has gathered like-minded people.
The tour also included a walk along Khreshchatyk, the main street of Kyiv. Participants admired the city’s views, admired its architecture, and shared their impressions of the trip to Ukraine and the results of the international conference, which, according to international guests, is extremely important for deepening Ukraine’s further cooperation with the countries of the Latin America, Asia and Africa region.
We are grateful to Yulia Bevzenko for the excursion.
