The Building of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea Was Damaged as a Result of Russian Shelling of Kyiv

This morning, as a result of another massive rocket attack on Kyiv, the Russian army caused significant damage to the building of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea, including the mosque inside.

The Kyiv Islamic Cultural Center in Nyvky is a salient spiritual center for the Crimean Tatar community and Muslims in Ukraine, and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea is the central spiritual and administrative body of all Muslims from Crimea.

On March 25 this year, under the patronage of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the annual Iftar, an evening held during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims, was held in this building, organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea in cooperation with with the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Crimean National Welfare Fund.

This act of military aggression is yet another proof that Russia is waging war not only against the Ukrainian state, but also against culture and spirituality. Russia will definitely be held accountable to all the victims for the crimes committed.
