“We have a common aim — Ukraine’s victory in this war” — Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk

Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to the international community for joining the Crimean Platform. As the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, he emphasized the importance of the parliamentary segment’s participation in the formation of a strong alliance of democratic states in the world.

“This year we are holding the Second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform on October 24 in the Czech Republic. I am grateful to my colleague Marketa Pekárová Adamová and the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic for this assistance to Ukraine,” emphasized Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also informed that today was also a “Crimean day” in the Parliament of Ukraine, with a number of statements and laws aimed at supporting the Crimea Platform.

Ruslan Stefanchuk paid special attention to the “security architecture” and noted that “today’s challenges encourage us to consider the issue of deoccupation of Crimea in a broader context — in the context of European, and therefore an integral part of global security.”

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada pointed out that the components of the security architecture include the restoration of territorial integrity, bringing the military and political leadership to justice, the inadmissibility of blackmail in the field of energy and nuclear security, the transformation of the security environment and Ukraine’s membership in NATO. “The aggressor understands only the language of force and complete international isolation,” added Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also paid attention to the Day of the National Flag and reminded of the price of this flag “being the first to fly on the territories liberated by Ukraine”.

In conclusion, Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his hope to hold the Crimean Platform Summit next year in the deoccupied Crimea. “Dear friends, I have a big dream that we will hold the next fourth Summit under this Ukrainian flag in the liberated Crimea. I think that this dream is within the power of all of us, because only together we can realize this dream. Glory to Ukraine!”
