“We Have Not Forgotten Crimea”: The President Emphasizes the Importance of the Crimea Platform

On 3 August 2026, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during the annual meeting of heads of Ukraine’s foreign diplomatic missions:

“We have not forgotten Crimea – I want you to know that. We do not forget. We do not forgive. We will not forget. That is why the Crimea Platform exists. That is why we hold it every year at the level of leaders, as well as in its parliamentary dimension. I want you to remember this.”

The Head of State also noted that all platforms initiated by Ukraine – from the Crimea Platform to NB8, from the Southeast Europe Summit to the Coalition of the Willing, from JEF partnership to the new Carpathian Integration Initiative aimed at strengthening relations with our neighbors in the European Union, from the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen to the Bring Kids Back UA initiative – all of these formats are important, all of them benefit Ukraine and invariably make it stronger. When the initiative is ours – when the initiative lies with Ukraine – then we will have support, and Russia will not defeat or outmaneuver us. Ukraine needs peace, of course. We need security and guarantees for our interests. Every initiative, every connection, and every result is a concrete contribution to achieving this fundamental goal.
