“We want our support to be not just rhetorical, but to have a concrete practical dimension. Croatia is with Ukraine, Crimea is Ukraine!”
“We stand in solidarity with Ukraine and its people, who are fighting for freedom and territorial integrity,” said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
The politician noted that since 2014, Crimea has become a testing ground for Russia’s various human rights abuses. It was from occupied Crimea that Russia initiated further actions to occupy Ukrainian territories. This is why Croatia strongly condemns all of these actions. Andrej Plenković criticized the militarization of occupied Crimea and attempts to engage Crimean residents in the Russian Armed Forces.
Croatia supports the revival of the grain initiative. Without it, there will be negative consequences for the global food situation. Russia’s actions regarding the “Grain for Ukraine” initiative jeopardize the world’s food security and navigation safety in the Black Sea region.
“We are ready to provide Croatian ports for the export of Ukrainian grain,” stated Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
Andrej Plenković also mentioned that Croatia has experience in demining and aims to share it with Ukraine.
“Tomorrow, I will be discussing with the Croatian Government the allocation of 40 million euros in aid to Ukraine,” the Prime Minister announced in his speech.
