‘We will not get tired, and we will support Ukraine until complete victory. Russia’s tortures of the Ukrainian people have not broken them.‘ – Daiga Mieriņa, Speaker of the Latvian Saeima.
The Speaker of the Latvian Saeima, Daiga Mieriņa, began her address at the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform with a call to continue uniting efforts to condemn Russia’s illegal temporary occupation of Crimea and human rights violations, including the unlawful abduction of children, persecution of Crimean Tatars, and militarization of the peninsula.
‘Unfortunately, Russia has its own playbook, which consists of torture and persecution.‘: Daiga Mieriņa reaffirmed Latvia’s strong support, particularly in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts, emphasizing the importance of supporting President Zelensky’s Peace Formula.‘We cannot doubt Ukraine’s victory because Russia interprets our doubts as a step toward its own triumph. If we allow it to happen, Russia will commit crimes again‘, Ms. Mieriņa said, urging condemnation of Russia’s terrorist actions in Ukraine and Crimea specifically.
