“Your freedom is freedom for the whole of Europe” – Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy

During the Third Crimea Platform Summit the Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni addressed the issue of Russia’s violation of international law along with the violation of human rights, primarily Crimean Tatars.

“In 2014 the extent of what was happening was not fully understood in the West and we hoped that Moscow’s imperialist impulse could stop there. We were wrong, and we must acknowledge that”, Giorgia Meloni stated.

The politician expressed Italy’s support and called on Russia to end its occupation policy as well as withdraw its troops from Ukraine. Meloni also assured Italy’s readiness in the recovery of Ukraine, including holding the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Italy in 2025, which will help create opportunities for the Ukrainian people and contribute to their socio-economic revival.

“Ukraine’s future is the future of peace, freedom, and well-being. It is the future of territorial integral Ukraine in a common European home since your heroic resistance is our battle for democracy. Your freedom is freedom for the whole of Europe.” – said Giorgia Meloni.
