Meeting with the President of the Riigikogu Juri Ratas was held in the Office of the Crimea Platform
Mr. Jüri Ratas, President of the Riigikogu (Estonian Parliament) visited the Office of the Crimea Platform and met with Tamila Tasheva, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea. The meeting was joined by Mr. Kaimo Kuusk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine, Mr. Toomas Kukk, Head of the Foreign Relations and Protocol Department of the Riigikogu, Mr. Andry Ruumet, Senior Counsellor and Consul, Estonian Embassy in Kyiv and Ms. Eva-Maria Liimets, Head of Strategy of Eastern Partnership Department, Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV). Denys Chystikov, Deputy Permanent Representative and aria Tomak, Head of the Crimean Platform Support Service Maria Tomak also joined the conversation.
Tamila Tasheva greeted her colleagues and thanked for the support of Ukraine and active participation of Estonia in the summits of the Crimea Platform at the highest level, in particular, the Estonian delegation at the First Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform was headed by Mr. Jüri Ratas.
The President of the Riigikogu emphasized that “Estonia has always supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine and it has always been clear to us that Crimea is 100% the territory of Ukraine”. During the meeting Jüri Ratas asked many questions about the life of Ukrainian citizens under occupation, the general situation on the occupied peninsula, and the scale of Russian colonization.
In addition, the guests were interested in the number of political prisoners in the occupied Crimea, the process of forced distribution of occupation passports, requests from Crimeans, Russification of preschool education, etc.
