The Prime Minister of Luxembourg presented Luxembourg’s position at the Fifth Summit of the Crimea Platform

The Prime Minister of Luxembourg presented Luxembourg’s position at the Fifth Summit of the Crimea Platform

“Eleven years of Russia’s occupation of Crimea — eleven years of oppression, systemic human rights violations, and suffering. This is, and this remains, a direct assault on the principles that hold our world together: sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of borders,” Luc Frieden, the Prime Minister of Luxembourg.

Luxembourg’s Prime Minister underlined the importance of rejecting Russia’s act of blatant aggression against Ukraine. He stressed that the United Nations offers an essential platform to amplify the voices of those suffering under occupation and to ensure Russia is held accountable for its actions. Frieden reiterated several times that the borders of a sovereign state cannot be redrawn by force or aggression.

Concluding his speech, he emphasized that Luxembourg is proud to stand with Ukraine and to support its people. He also made clear that Ukraine is not alone in this struggle — and will not be alone until peace is restored.
