The relatives of the soldier could not say goodbye to their son and brother, because they are in the occupied Crimea

Since the beginning of the occupation of Crimea in 2014, thousands of local residents have been forced to leave their homes due to Russian aggression. Today, many Crimean residents have joined the Ukrainian Defense Forces to fight for their country. The soldiers originating from Crimea are often forced to hide their real names and faces in order not to endanger their relatives who currently are staying in the occupation, because the Russian occupiers persecute our citizens for their pro-Ukrainian stance and it may endanger the families of Ukrainian soldiers and activists.

On April 9, 2024, the last day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, last respects were given to the Ukrainian soldier, the Crimean Tatar, the unit commander of the 95th separate air assault brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For known reasons related to the temporary occupation of Crimea, the Crimean Tatar community and his friends must not disclose the name of the Hero, who had the codename Emir. The relatives of the soldier could not say goodbye to their son and brother, because they are in the occupied Crimea and if the Russian occupation administration finds out that their loved one fought for Ukraine, they will be persecuted and imprisoned. The family members are unable to pay last respects and visit the burial place, and cannot even grieve in public. Russia brings pain not only physically, imprisoning and killing Ukrainian citizens, but also perpetrates mental pain, because parents and children are separated.

The Hero voluntarily joined the ranks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Emir was killed while performing a combat mission to protect the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.

Emir was the soul of the Crimean Tatar youth, and many of his friends in the Armed Forces defend Ukraine, volunteering actively and fulfilling the tasks assigned to them by the state.
