“We definitely need to bring everyone responsible for these crimes to justice. To do so, we need a strong, reliable mechanism to ensure that human rights violations are addressed. This is one of our highest priorities.” Stevo Pendarovski, President of the Republic of North Macedonia

During his speech at the Third Summit of the Crimean Platform, Stevo Pendarovski, President of the Republic of North Macedonia noted that the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity should not be some distant dream, it should be the result of our efforts and our commitment. 

“Over the past 18 months, the world has been confronting absolutely horrific war crimes, human rights violations, extrajudicial killings, torture, which are committed by the Russian armed forces. Now the whole world is united around the non-recognition of the occupation of Crimea and other parts of Ukrainian territory. These things cannot continue without a response. The crimes must be investigated and those responsible must be brought to justice”, –  said Pendarovski.

He also added: “We must learn from history and lay the foundations for peaceful coexistence for future generations.  Everyone who is guilty of these crimes must be brought to justice. To do this, we need a strong, reliable mechanism to ensure that human rights violations are countered. This is one of our highest priorities. We must unite all stakeholders in defending human rights, and our commitment to this issue will remain unchanged.”

“Let me pay tribute to all the fallen Ukrainian heroes and at the same time express my respect to each of you for your dedication to this noble cause. Protecting a sovereign UN member state” – concluded the President of the Republic of North Macedonia with these words.
