In his speech, the First Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament emphasized that the war unleashed by Russia began in 2014 with the illegal occupation of the Crimean peninsula, which is a violation of the basic principles of the UN Charter. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Crimea and activists who are fighting for their rights.

On behalf of the Greek people, Mr. Ioannis made clear that Greece is ready to provide military, humanitarian and economic aid. This is their way to support Ukraine in its struggle for territorial integrity, freedom and independence.

Mr. Vice-President also assured that Greece is looking forward to Ukraine’s post-war recovery and will try to join the reconstruction of the country after the war.
